Beta Release of Photoshop for Android with Integrated Firefly AI
AI chatbots such as ChatGPT and Gemini have rapidly advanced in recent times, acquiring image generation and editing capabilities that enable users to create stunning visuals.
A few months back, ChatGPT’s image generation feature gained immense popularity, encouraging millions to experiment with OpenAI’s tool to produce Project Ghibli-themed images and enjoy the ensuing AI memes. Google equipped Gemini with comparable image generation capabilities, particularly in the realm of editing.
With platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini, mastering complicated software to create or modify images is unnecessary. Rather than relying on Photoshop, you can simply articulate your desires in natural language and let the AI take care of the rest. The same principle applies to modifications that would typically require Photoshop.
However, Photoshop continues to hold a place in today’s AI-augmented technological landscape. Adobe adopted generative AI some time ago and has made its Firefly image generation tools accessible to users. These tools can also yield remarkable outcomes, and once again, prior Photoshop knowledge is not a prerequisite for using them.
Adobe is not abandoning Photoshop in the near future. Actually, following the launch of a Photoshop app for iPhone a few months back, Adobe has now introduced the Android version. It is available for free download on the Google Play Store.
Designed from scratch, the app is currently in beta, so don’t be alarmed if something malfunctions while you’re producing art or content while on the move.
Photoshop for Android comes with certain software and hardware specifications. You will need an Android device operating on Android 11 or higher, with a minimum of 6GB of RAM. Adobe suggests 8GB, probably due to the Firefly AI capabilities.
