Is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 resistant to water?

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to match or enhance the waterproofing standards established by its predecessor, the Z Flip 6. With a predicted IP48 rating, it assures defense against both dust and water, akin to the Z Flip 6. Samsung has been at the forefront of foldable waterproofing, first unveiling an IPX8 rating with the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3. The Z Flip 6 took this further with an IP48 rating, providing some level of dust protection. Speculation indicates possible improvements in the Z Flip 7’s water and dust defenses, although details remain unverified.

Samsung has the chance to redefine benchmarks for foldable resilience. Leaks imply the Z Flip 7 may boast enhanced resistance, potentially achieving a higher IP rating. In addition to waterproofing, the Z Flip 7 is anticipated to include a larger exterior screen, similar to the Motorola Razr lineup, and come equipped with One UI 8, ensuring optimized software performance.

In summary, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is not forecasted to vary significantly from the Z Flip 6, aside from several notable enhancements. These encompass processor updates, new color selections, and possibly improved waterproofing, rendering it an attractive option for users in search of durability and innovation in foldable smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7: Investigating Qi2 Wireless Charging Compatibility

Here’s a glimpse of what the wireless charging specifications for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 might entail.

Does the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 come with Qi2 wireless charging capability?

Best answer: The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is highly likely to feature 15W wireless charging, mirroring the Z Flip 6. It should also be ready for Qi2, indicating that it can work with Qi2 chargers when used with a suitable case, akin to the Galaxy S25 series. Whether it will have native Qi2 charging support is something we will learn in due course.

Qi2 wireless charging on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is anticipated to be identical to that of the S25 series

Although the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 has not been officially released yet, the majority of leaks and speculations thus far provide a fairly clear expectation of what is to come. Alongside design modifications and specification enhancements, the Z Flip 7 is predicted to receive a slight increase in battery capacity, but charging speeds are expected to remain unchanged.

This would encompass the 15W wireless charging speed from the Z Flip 6, which should be retained in the Z Flip 7. This would enable the Flip 7 to be compatible with Qi2 charging rates if paired with the appropriate case. It is doubtful that the Flip 7 will come equipped with integrated magnets for Qi2, implying that you will need to use either Samsung’s own or third-party cases for the device to connect with Qi2 chargers.

There’s a possibility we could be mistaken, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 (and by extension, Fold 7) might become one of the pioneering Samsung devices to feature native Qi2 charging, but current evidence does not support this notion. Regardless of this feature, the Z Flip 7 is set to be one of Samsung’s top smartphones.

A recent entry on the Wireless Power Consortium for an unreleased Samsung gadget (likely a foldable) suggests support for Qi 2.1.0, which is certainly encouraging.

Qi2 is anticipated to be integrated into a larger number of phones in 2025, with significant advancement coming from Samsung and Google. The Galaxy S25 series from Samsung is officially ‘Qi2 Ready,’ meaning all that is required is the correct case and charger to get started. We verified this during our review of the Galaxy S25 Plus, and it functioned exactly as expected. With a Qi2 case, one can also utilize their Android device with any Apple MagSafe chargers since Qi2 is fundamentally based on Apple’s wireless charging technology.

In contrast to iPhones, most Android devices do not yet contain built-in magnets, so a Qi2-compatible case will be necessary for your phone to take advantage of this charging method. It is likely that we will see Android flagship devices featuring built-in magnets for Qi2 by year’s end. Perhaps the Google Pixel 10 series could be the first to implement this, or Possibly Nothing’s forthcoming flagship.

Will the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 support Qi2 wireless charging?

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is anticipated to offer 15W wireless charging, aligning with the hardware criteria for the Qi2 standard. However, it’s unlikely that Samsung will incorporate built-in magnets, which means Qi2 Ready support with cases and accessories is the best expectation for the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Clarifying the Qi2 and wireless charging scenario for the Galaxy Z Fold 7

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 hasn’t been formally revealed yet, so the certainty of it acquiring Qi2 certification remains unclear. Nevertheless, we can reference the Samsung Galaxy S25 series as a point of comparison for what may be featured in the forthcoming foldable device.

Similar to the previous Galaxy S24, the new Galaxy S25 is compatible with 15W wireless charging, fulfilling the essential criteria for Qi2 certification. In contrast, the existing Galaxy Z Fold 6 also provides 15W wireless charging, which would adequately meet the Qi2 requirements.

Apple TV+ Acquires Creator of Its Most-Viewed New Drama of the Year

**Apple TV+ Renews Agreement with Showrunner Jonathan Tropper After Triumph of ‘Your Friends and Neighbors’**

After the remarkable success of ‘Your Friends and Neighbors’, starring Jon Hamm and concluding its inaugural season last week, Apple has renewed its agreement with showrunner Jonathan Tropper, as reported by Deadline.

### Three-time Apple Collaborator

Apple TV+ first teamed up with Tropper in 2019, when he took on the role of executive producer and showrunner for *See*, one of the platform’s initial offerings. Since then, he has emerged as one of the most active creators on Apple TV+, with two ongoing series and two prominent films in development.

As part of this new multi-year extension, he will keep developing and producing original content for Apple through his production firm, Tropper Ink. Tropper shared his excitement, saying, “Collaborating with the entire Apple team remains the most creatively rewarding partnership of my career, and I’m eager to bring *Lucky* and other new projects to the platform, in addition to producing more seasons of *Your Friends & Neighbors*.”

### Triumph

As per Nielsen sampling data, *Your Friends and Neighbors* ranks as the most-viewed new Apple drama series of the year, based on first-month audience numbers across U.S. households. It is also poised to enter the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 for the first time, a rare achievement for a newer Apple TV+ original. Remarkably, Apple had already foreseen the show’s success, renewing it for a second season back in November, well before its premiere. Season 2 is presently in production.

### Upcoming

Next from Tropper is *Lucky*, a limited series featuring Anya Taylor-Joy, based on Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel, set to premiere later this year. In the film realm, Tropper is scripting and producing *The Corsair Code*, a sci-fi mystery adventure starring Chris Hemsworth, and *Matchbox*, an action-comedy inspired by the popular toy brand, featuring John Cena, Jessica Biel, and Sam Richardson.

Beyond Apple, Tropper is also writing an upcoming Star Wars film for director Shawn Levy.

### Final Thoughts

Apple TV+ is offered at $9.99 per month and showcases popular TV series and films including *Ted Lasso*, *Severance*, *The Studio*, *The Morning Show*, *Shrinking*, and *Silo*.

Complimentary Tool Bing Video Creator Employs OpenAI’s Sora Text-to-Video AI Model

The surge of artificial intelligence integration persists this week as Microsoft unveils the new, complimentary Bing Video Creator within the Bing mobile application.

Believe it or not, it has now been two years since Microsoft introduced the Bing Image Creator, granting users the capability to generate AI images directly via its search engine. This April, Microsoft enhanced its AI features with the launch of Copilot Search in Bing, and now, Bing users can create short videos using AI.

“Whether you’re unleashing your creativity, narrating a story, or seeking that ideal video to express your thoughts, Bing Video Creator empowers you with the ability to craft videos effortlessly,” the Bing team states. “We are thrilled to enable everyone to transform their text into magic through an AI-generated video.”

How to utilize Bing Video Creator

Microsoft indicates that Bing Video Creator will soon be available on desktop and via Copilot Search, but for now, it is exclusively accessible in the Bing mobile app on iOS and Android.

To get started with this new feature, launch the Bing app on your smartphone or tablet and tap on the menu icon in the lower-right corner. You should find a new option called “Video Creator” listed among the applications. Alternatively, you can simply begin typing “Create a video of…” in the search bar to initiate the process without navigating through menus.

Whichever method you prefer, you can then input a description of the video you wish to create and click “Create.” The Bing team notes that the more context and details you provide, the higher quality your AI-generated video will be. The time required for video generation will differ based on the prompt, but you will receive a notification once it is complete.

Videos created with Bing Video Creator are 5 seconds in duration and can be made in 9:16 format (with 16:9 format on the way). You can line up to three video creations simultaneously, and once the videos are finished generating, you have the option to download and share them. Furthermore, videos are stored for only 90 days, so be sure to determine what to do with them within that timeframe.
