The Pixel Weather Application Debuts on Pixel Watch

The Pixel Weather application introduces Material 3 Expressive design now available on Google’s smartwatch.

Google is broadening its Pixel Weather app to include the Pixel Watch, beginning with the Pixel Watch 4. This app, which was formerly exclusive to mobile devices and the Google Pixel Tablet, will now elevate the smartwatch experience with its Material 3 Expressive design. The application presents a pill-shaped card showcasing weather information and an icon that matches the mobile app, featuring a yellow sun against a blue backdrop. Users will enjoy three new watch tiles that provide temperature, sunrise/sunset, and UV index details, including city information.

Originally launched alongside the Pixel 9 series, the Pixel Weather app is ready to debut on the Pixel Watch. Although a Weather application has been present on Pixel Watches since Wear OS 3 in 2022, the launch of Pixel Weather introduces a novel design and new functionalities. The application features a sizable pill-shaped card that exhibits the current temperature, weather condition, and daily highs and lows, positioned with the city name and current time above it. The background imagery corresponds to the weather, akin to the mobile application.

Google has also refreshed the watch face tiles for Pixel Weather, providing three choices: one featuring temperature, high/low, and chance of precipitation; another displaying sunrise/sunset timings; and a final one indicating the UV index. All tiles present the time and city above the weather data. Watch face complications are also anticipated to be released.

Though no specific release date for the Pixel Weather app on the Pixel Watch has been confirmed, it is expected to be available with the Pixel Watch 4 next month. Google has begun presenting screenshots of Pixel Weather on the Play Store for Wear OS. The fate of the current Weather application remains unclear after Pixel Weather is launched.

Hands-On Assessment: Trendy Midrange Android Smartphones – Motorola Edge 60 Neo, Moto G06, and G06 Power

Motorola has recently introduced three new midrange smartphones during the Lenovo Innovation World 2025 event in Berlin, in conjunction with the IFA tech exhibition. The latest models consist of the Motorola Edge 60 Neo, Moto G06, and Moto G06 Power. While these smartphones are expected to hit the European and other international markets, it remains unclear whether they will be launched in the U.S. Historically, similar releases have not reached North America under the same branding.

The Motorola Edge 60 Neo builds on its predecessor, the Edge 50 Neo, incorporating a new MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset that facilitates AI advancements and camera enhancements. It maintains the same 6.4-inch pOLED screen with HDR10+ capability and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Additionally, the Edge 60 Neo offers enhanced durability with IP69 water and dust resistance along with Gorilla Glass 7i. It is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 68W wired and 15W wireless charging, although there are no camera improvements from the earlier version.

Benchmark Assessment of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7: Exynos 2500 Performance Review

While it still doesn’t compare to what Qualcomm provides, the Exynos 2500 is not as restrictive as previous iterations.

(Image credit: Brady Snyder / Android Central)

I have been using the Galaxy Z Flip 7 for nearly a month now, and I must admit that the foldable far exceeds my expectations. The larger cover screen significantly enhances its usability, and although Samsung still restricts app usage, it’s quite simple to circumvent that hurdle.

Interestingly, Samsung opted for its proprietary Exynos 2500 chipset across all global versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 7, moving away from Qualcomm’s components. Although recent Exynos models have faced criticism (with good reason), Samsung LSI appears to have taken lessons from its past errors.

Vivo X200 Pro, Galaxy S25, and various other standard smartphones, but it is reasonably respectable within the realm of foldables. The inherent design of the Flip 7 limits the possibility of incorporating a substantial thermal management system, resulting in its relatively poor performance under intense usage.

iOS 26 Unveils CarPlay’s ‘Video in the Car’ Feature with Restrictions

Apple is implementing a notable modification to CarPlay, enabling video playback for the very first time in its history. This new capability will be accessible starting with iOS 26, allowing applications to showcase video on the CarPlay display while the vehicle is stationary. This change, termed “video in the car,” is outlined on Apple’s developer site, which urges developers to incorporate support for this functionality using AirPlay.

The announcement has sparked inquiries about the level of support from car manufacturers, as each brand will have the authority to activate or deactivate the AirPlay video functionality in their vehicles. Although a third-party app previously succeeded in incorporating video playback via a CarPlay web browser, it was subsequently removed following the App Store review procedure.

With iOS 26 expected to launch this month, it remains unclear whether video playback will be operational during the developer and public beta phases. The actual execution of this feature will rely significantly on the backing of individual automakers, which has yet to be confirmed by any brands.

In addition to video playback, iOS 26 will bring a variety of improvements to CarPlay, including revamped icons, widget functionality, and updates to apps like Music and Messages. As the release date nears, additional information will be shared regarding automaker integration of the new video playback feature.
