Gemini Will Turn Google Photos into a Customized AI Meme Creator

Google Photos is preparing to introduce text editing features reminiscent of Instagram, and you can already utilize AI to transform your images into videos.

The upcoming functionality for this widely-used photo editing application also seems to be AI-oriented, as code uncovered by Android Authority suggests that Google is implementing a Gemini-driven capability that enables users to craft custom memes. This functionality was detected in the code of version 7.51.0 of the Google Photos app on Android. Currently, it seems to be referred to as “Me Meme,” but this name may change prior to its official launch.

According to Android Authority’s description, it appears you will be able to upload reference images of yourself or your friends, select a meme template, and create a personalized meme that incorporates a version of yourself. The only example identified thus far is the “This is fine” meme; however, it is expected to offer additional templates if it goes live.

Microsoft Copilot Unveils Clippy-Inspired Functionality and Innovative Collaborative Chat Features

Microsoft is progressing in the personalization of its AI chatbot, Copilot, by unveiling Mico, an animated character that channels the essence of the retired Clippy from Microsoft Office. Mico, which stands for Microsoft Copilot, is crafted to be expressive, customizable, and friendly, providing visual feedback to user interactions. This initiative aims to make Copilot seem more relatable and less mechanical, responding to critiques aimed at ChatGPT. Mico is anticipated to launch soon, and may already be accessible within the Copilot app alongside Copilot Voice.

Alongside Mico, Microsoft is improving personalization features with new conversational styles, including a “real talk” option that adjusts to user preferences to encourage development and connection. Details on this feature are still forthcoming.

Further enhancements to Copilot entail a broadened memory capacity and the capability to invite others for collaborative efforts within Copilot chats. This function enables users to write, code, and brainstorm together. Copilot will also recall personal information such as anniversaries and marathons for future engagements. Additionally, Microsoft is introducing “Copilot for health,” an AI companion that offers reliable health information and connects users with appropriate doctors based on their location and language.

These enhancements are integral to Microsoft’s strategy of embedding Copilot into PC usage and distinguishing it from offerings by OpenAI. Nevertheless, some users might look for methods to completely eliminate Copilot from Windows, highlighting the importance of user choice. More information regarding these updates can be found on Microsoft’s blog.

Mac Deliveries Rise by 15% in Q3, Markedly Surpassing Total PC Growth

**Apple Surpasses PC Industry Expansion in Q3 2025: An In-Depth Examination**

A new analysis from Counterpoint Research indicates that Apple has outperformed the entire PC sector in sales growth during the third quarter of 2025. This article explores the primary insights from the report, underscoring the elements fueling this growth and its ramifications for the future of the PC sector.

The report reveals that global PC shipments saw an uptick of 8.1% in Q3 2025 compared to the equivalent period last year. This increase is linked to multiple factors, such as the approaching end of Windows 10 support and strategic inventory tweaks in response to U.S. import tariff regulations. The report highlights that almost 40% of the existing PC installed base is still running Windows 10, suggesting that a substantial replacement wave is imminent, which is anticipated to further enhance PC market growth in the upcoming years.

For Apple, the report identified an astounding 14.9% surge in shipments for the quarter, fueled by the attractiveness of new MacBook models and greater enterprise adoption. This places Apple as a formidable player in the PC market, ranking just behind Lenovo, which experienced a 17% shipment increase. Asus was not far behind with a 14% rise, while Dell encountered a slight decrease of 1%, and the “Others” category decreased by 3%.

Minsoo Kang, a Senior Analyst at Counterpoint, reflected on the current market dynamics, stating, “While the prevailing growth is mainly propelled by OS transitions, the industry is on the brink of an even more significant shift with the emergence of the AI PC. However, this forthcoming wave of growth has yet to fully appear in the Q3 2025 figures.” This implies that, although the current growth is encouraging, the future may unveil even greater opportunities as AI technology is integrated into personal computing.

Looking ahead, Counterpoint Research projects that AI PCs will emerge as a crucial growth factor beginning next year, particularly after the introduction of new AI chipsets by major manufacturers. This transition toward AI-enhanced computing is poised to transform the PC market arena, offering fresh opportunities and challenges for producers.

In summary, Apple’s remarkable growth in Q3 2025 underscores its robust standing in the competitive PC market, driven by cutting-edge products and strategic enterprise uptake. As the industry gears up for the next growth phase with AI incorporation, stakeholders must adapt to the shifting technological environment to maintain their competitive advantage.

“Psychological Thriller Starring Michael Douglas and Brittany Murphy Rises in Popularity on Netflix”

One of the most viewed films on Netflix in the U.S. at this moment is a suspenseful narrative set in Manhattan, featuring Brittany Murphy and Michael Douglas, that premiered shortly after the 9/11 attacks. “Don’t Say a Word,” directed by Gary Fleder, is presently ranked #6 on Netflix in the U.S., conveying the tale of a psychiatrist and father (Douglas) whose daughter (Murphy) is a distressed psychiatric patient harboring a secret that a merciless group of abductors is pursuing.

This film, which is nearing a quarter-century old now, aligns with a Netflix trend that could be written about nearly every day. Essentially, the movies category behaves quite differently from Netflix’s television offerings, such that older, acquired films — like “Don’t Say a Word,” which recently arrived on the streaming platform — often perform, at the very least, on par with Netflix’s most prominent films. Furthermore, as this latest addition illustrates, they occasionally secure spots on the Top 10 movies list.

Don’t Say a Word is experiencing a resurgence on Netflix

While our sister site Looper highlights the film as showcasing one of Murphy’s finest performances, it should be noted that the film was not well received by either critics or audiences upon its initial release. “Don’t Say a Word,” adapted from the book of the same title by Andrew Klavan, currently holds a dismal 23% critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes (derived from 113 critiques) and a 49% audience score (from over 50,000 user reviews). “‘Don’t Say A Word’ is polished and well-made, yet the film feels formulaic and often stretches believability with many eye-rolling instances,” reads the critics’ consensus summary on the review aggregation site.

That being said, it’s evident that the reason behind the current Netflix performance is new viewers discovering and forming their own opinions about the film — which is just a few positions behind “KPop Demon Hunters,” ranked #3 on the Netflix Top 10 movies list in the U.S. (the latter also being Netflix’s most significant original movie). “Extremely well written and directed,” commended one Rotten Tomatoes viewer, after “Don’t Say a Word” made its way to Netflix. “Excellent cinematography. Abundant suspense, mystery, drama, intrigue, and plot twists. Incredible performances from the entire cast, all very believable in their roles. Very memorable and highly recommended.”

Amazon’s Top-Rated $12 Reading Essential Perfect for Everyday Use

If you typically enjoy reading books at night but prefer your hardcovers and paperbacks to an e-reader or phone, a reading light is an indispensable accessory. However, nighttime reading often results in bothering others with room lighting or struggling with a low-quality and inconsistent clip-on.

The market is saturated with reading lights priced between $8-15 that appear similar, yet many are unreliable. Most inexpensive clip-on lights exhibit common issues: They flicker, causing eye strain, the battery-operated versions die just when you want to read more chapters, and numerous lack brightness controls, compelling people to accept light that’s either excessively bright or insufficiently dim. This highlights the importance for readers to invest in a dependable model.

Gritin’s LED reading light, available for $12 on Amazon with a 4.8 rating, addresses these issues with features generally found in more expensive models. The portable LED light can attach to your book or fit in your pocket, making it a practical accessory for readers.

### Adjustable brightness levels and color temperatures

The reading light provides three brightness settings, beneficial for modifying intensity in various settings. Most economical reading lights come with one fixed temperature, which may seem too harsh or too dim based on the surroundings. To minimize eye strain, the Gritin reading light features three color temperature options: warm, cool white, and mixed. Warm mode is ideal for reading before bed, while cool white offers sharper contrast for small print, and the mixed mode can be utilized under average conditions.

Many budget reading lights use flickering LEDs, which can cause eye fatigue or headaches during prolonged reading. This model employs flicker-free LEDs, crucial for lengthy reading periods. Gritin’s reading light charges via USB-C, removing the necessity for a separate charging cable. It provides up to 80 hours of use at the lowest brightness setting, thanks to its 1,000mAh battery. This is sufficient for multiple reading sessions, especially when on the go. Full charging takes about 2.5 hours, and it includes LED indicators to display the battery status.

Reviews on Amazon indicate that its overall design is satisfactory and the build quality is robust. The 360-degree neck is pliable and maintains position, making it simple to direct light wherever needed. Priced at $12, the Gritin LED reading light is ideal for anyone who frequently reads physical books in communal spaces or while traveling. The rechargeable battery, extended battery life, and adjustable features render it more versatile than basic clip-on lights in the same price range.

Latest Enhancements and Changes in Apple’s Photos Application for iOS 16

Apple’s Photos app underwent a significant redesign last year, and iOS 26 introduces several fresh changes. Here’s everything that’s new for the Photos app in iOS 26.

## New Liquid Glass Design

One of the most substantial modifications affecting all Apple applications this year is iOS 26’s new ‘Liquid Glass’ aesthetic. Specifically in the Photos app, you will notice Liquid Glass UI features throughout—from buttons and navigation tabs to popup menus and more. While your photos and videos remain the primary visual focus of the app, Photos’ integration of Liquid Glass isn’t as pronounced as in some other apps—but it’s still a delightful update that’s hard to overlook.

## Tab Bar Navigation Returns

When Apple revamped the Photos app in iOS 18, the most substantial change involved navigation. The traditional tab bar was replaced with a single-screen UI. Following a wave of discontent from users, Apple has reinstated tab bar navigation in Photos with iOS 26. It’s not a complete return to the exact configuration prior to iOS 18, but Photos navigation is now notably closer to the old setup with three tabs:

– Library
– Collections
– Search

The Library functions similarly to earlier iterations of the app. Meanwhile, Collections gathers all the new, customizable sections introduced in iOS 18 into a dedicated screen.

## Spatialize Photos

Last year, Apple Vision Pro acquired a new capability to “spatialize” photos. Now, iOS 26 has brought a similar feature to iPhone users through the Photos app. While viewing a photo, a new button in the top-right corner allows you to see a ‘Spatial Scene’ version of the image. Essentially, it adds depth to your photo enabling you to pan around and explore different angles. It’s a fun addition within the Photos app, but the feature shines especially as Spatial Scenes for your Lock Screen wallpaper.

## New Customization Settings

Within the newly updated Collections tab, Apple is providing users with even greater customization possibilities than before. You could already fully customize and reorder the sections that appear in your Photos app, but iOS 26 introduces:

1. New view preferences for your collections
2. The ability to collapse and expand individual collections

For the first option, tapping the three dots at the top of the Collections tab presents three viewing choices. You can standardize all collections to a uniform size, either all small or all large, or select the default view which highlights certain collections more than others. The option to temporarily collapse certain sections should enhance navigation in your Collections view as well.

## Event Details Screen

Photos now features a new capability designed to provide you with details about significant events you attended. When browsing moments from events like concerts or sports games, swiping up will reveal a link with additional details about the event. For sports events, information such as venue, final score, and upcoming related events will be displayed. For concerts, you’ll gain access to top songs from the artist’s tour and more. It remains uncertain how ‘major’ an event must be to qualify for this exclusive details screen, but it’s hoped that Apple makes the feature inclusive of both large and small events.

## Photos in iOS 26: Wrap-Up

This year’s update for Photos illustrates Apple’s intent to advance the app while also using iOS 26 to reintroduce some of the familiarity that users lost in iOS 18. It may not be as packed with features as last year, but following the upheaval of that major redesign, a year of consistency could be exactly what Photos users are looking for.
