2026 Expansion of Puget Systems' Server Line

2026 Expansion of Puget Systems’ Server Line

3 Min Read

We’re adding new 1U and 2U systems to our Puget Server collection. Whether you require CPU computing, GPU performance, fast storage, or all three – we have options to meet your needs!

Overview

Throughout 2025, we expanded our server lineup – including our initial steps into using MSI Enterprise Platform Solutions barebones systems. Partnering with companies like MSI enables us to broaden our offerings and cater to more customer needs. Our first expansion phase will introduce 11 new servers in the coming weeks, while maintaining some well-performing existing models.

All new servers announced today support two internal M.2 drives for the OS, and range from 4 to 24 U.2 SSDs in the front (and sometimes the back!) for storage. Other features of the MSI barebones designs we appreciate include:

  • Shared components like motherboards, chassis, and power supplies between selected models
  • Consistent visual design across most models
  • OCP 3.0 network card slots on almost all models

Besides these physical attributes, our collaboration with partners like MSI enhances cooperation between our engineering and support teams and manufacturer resources. Our supply chain team has also worked closely with distribution channels to ensure consistent availability and short lead times for these systems. We anticipate improvements in our manufacturing process and the benefits they will bring to our customers.

1U CPU Servers

We will have four new 1U models for dense CPU compute – each featuring 12 front bays for NVMe storage. Single- and dual-CPU configurations are offered for both AMD EPYC™ 9005 and Intel® Xeon® 6. Some replace older systems from previous generations and will coexist with an entry-level EPYC™ 4005 server added late last year. With the highest core density in our lineup, these 1U servers are ideal for CPU-based rendering nodes as well as web and database servers.

2U CPU Servers

In the 2U space, options diversify. We will offer models that mirror the 1U line: single- and dual-CPU versions for both Intel and AMD, but with up to twice the front bay capacity. These are particularly suitable as storage servers or in scenarios where more drives need to be easily added over time.

2U GPU Servers

The 2U chassis’s additional space and cooling make room for high-performance GPUs. We retained a popular ASUS 2U quad-GPU server based on AMD EPYC, and an MSI dual-GPU model added late last year. Three new Intel-based servers will join these, offering single and dual Xeons with two GPUs or a single CPU and four GPUs!

Initially, most systems will accommodate 300W accelerators – except for the quad-GPU Xeon setup, which supports four
