# Xiaomi 14T Pro Review: Stunning Design Comes with a Cost

The Xiaomi 14T Pro represents the newest entry in Xiaomi’s T series, a range recognized for delivering flagship features at a more reasonable cost. Nevertheless, with the introduction of the 14T Pro, Xiaomi has merged the boundaries between its T series and flagship models, providing notable upgrades in design, hardware, and camera capabilities. Yet, these enhancements come alongside a higher price point, prompting the question: Does the Xiaomi 14T Pro still qualify as a value flagship, or has it transitioned into the premium category?

## Xiaomi 14T Pro: Android Central Assessment

**Rating: 4 out of 5 stars**

Xiaomi has significantly enhanced the 14T Pro, especially in terms of design and camera capabilities. The device features an exquisite metallic frame, robust hardware, and remarkable cameras that compete with Xiaomi’s flagship offerings. However, the elevated price and the absence of certain elements, such as a charger in the box and prompt software updates, complicate its classification as a genuine value flagship.

### **Advantages:**
– **Metallic frame exudes a premium feel**
– **Outstanding camera capabilities, particularly the main sensor**
– **AMOLED display is more luminous and vibrant than its predecessor**
– **Smooth everyday usage**
– **Battery life extends to a day and a half**
– **IP68 dust and water protection**

### **Drawbacks:**
– **No charger included in the packaging**
– **No optical image stabilization (OIS) available for the telephoto lens**
– **More expensive than earlier models**
– **Software updates are sluggish**

## Pricing and Availability

Xiaomi unveiled the 14T Pro globally on September 26, 2024. The phone is offered in several configurations, such as 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB. However, availability may vary by region.

– **U.K. Pricing**:
– 12GB/256GB: £649 ($867)
– 12GB/512GB: £699 ($934)
– 12GB/1TB: £799 ($1,067)
– **Launch Promotion**: Complimentary Xiaomi Pad 6 or 6S Pro with purchase until October 31.

– **Germany Pricing**:
– 12GB/256GB: €799 ($891)
– 12GB/512GB: €899 ($1,003)
– 12GB/1TB: €999 ($1,114)

Regrettably, Xiaomi has not introduced the 14T series in India, one of its largest markets, and it appears improbable that this will change.

## Design: A Premium Touch

Xiaomi has boldly enhanced the design of the 14T Pro, opting for a metallic frame that feels significantly more upscale than previous iterations. The aluminum mid-frame and “metallic Deco” back provide the phone with a sleek and contemporary appearance. This design marks a substantial shift from earlier models, which often lacked a unified aesthetic.

The device is available in three colors: Titan Gray, Titan Blue, and Titan Black. The gray variant, especially, is notable for its minimalist charm. The camera module has also been reimagined, featuring distinct rings for each lens, delivering a sleeker, more polished look.

Despite its increased dimensions and weight, the 14T Pro remains comfortable to hold, thanks to its beveled edges and balanced weight distribution. The phone is also equipped with IP68 dust and water resistance, ensuring durability for everyday activities.

## Display: Enhanced Brightness and Quality

The Xiaomi 14T Pro sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2712 x 1220, identical to the previous year’s model. However, the display now achieves up to 4000 nits in HDR content, greatly enhancing visibility in direct sunlight.

Xiaomi provides several color profiles, but the default “Original Colour Pro” mode might not suit everyone. Switching to “Vivid” mode yields more colorful and vibrant hues, which is preferable for media consumption and general usage.

The device supports a 144Hz refresh rate, though it is initially set to 60Hz to maximize battery efficiency. While the high refresh rate enhances UI navigation, most games still limit to 60fps, reducing the practical benefits of 144Hz in everyday scenarios.

## Performance and Battery: Premium Hardware

With MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ chipset powering it, the Xiaomi 14T Pro delivers flagship-level performance. The chipset features a Cortex X4 core clocked at 3.4GHz, three additional X4 cores at 2.85GHz, and four Cortex A720 cores for efficiency. This configuration allows the 14T Pro to exceed many competitors in multi-core performance.
