Samsung is deploying its June security update for the Galaxy S25 series in South Korea ahead of other areas. This patch includes numerous Galaxy-specific corrections; however, it has reportedly updated its bootloader in preparation for the upcoming One UI 8 beta. The first One UI 8 beta presented users with Samsung’s “new rhythm” of software development, incorporating UX revisions and additional features.
Samsung’s newest flagship series is beginning to receive its monthly security update, but there are indications that more enhancements are coming. As noted by SamMobile, Samsung’s June 2025 security patch is reaching its Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra models with version number AYE5 in South Korea. As usual, the Korean manufacturer provided an extensive changelog detailing its Galaxy-specific fixes. In total, Samsung claims to have implemented solutions for 36 critical issues.
The patch notes indicate that several of these fixes address 19 identified vulnerabilities and exposures found within its software. Samsung urges users to download and install this update promptly to maintain the security of their devices.
Among the corrections, the patch notes emphasize updates to the “fingerprint trustlet,” designed to prevent unauthorized access to your device. Additionally, a fix has been included to resolve a previously reported “ScreenCapture for Galaxy Watch” issue from December 2024.
As users install this patch, SamMobile mentions there’s a bit of One UI 8 (Android 16) integrated into the update. Samsung has reportedly updated the bootloader with the June security patch. The bootloader serves as the initial sequence that activates when you power on your device. The publication indicates that the bootloader has been upgraded to v4, signaling a potential One UI 8 Beta 2 release.
While the June update is being rolled out in South Korea, the patch is anticipated to arrive in the U.S. and other regions shortly thereafter. This process may take a few days, so ensure your device is prepared for automatic downloads and installations. You can also periodically check your device for the update as the week progresses.
If Samsung’s second One UI 8 beta is on the horizon, it’s expected to arrive quickly following the first. The initial beta was released at the end of May for the Galaxy S25 series. Though limited to a select few areas, the beta featured “enhanced” AI capabilities with multimodal support and a customized UX design tailored for various devices.
During its launch, Samsung indicated that One UI 8 (Android 16) would establish a “new rhythm” for the future of its software. Users can look forward to more “customized” insights and recommendations to assist them throughout their daily activities in the next operating system.
