Essential information

  • According to a new report from a Korean news outlet, Samsung’s XR headset, referred to as Project Moohan, may launch by the end of this year.
  • The headset is anticipated to be launched on September 29 at a “domestic Unpacked.”
  • The report mentions that the XR headset will initially become available in Korea in October, followed by a rollout in additional countries.

Samsung’s XR headset has gained notable attention recently, highlighted by its latest appearance at Google’s I/O event this year. Although both Samsung and Google have openly discussed the headset and showcased it, concrete details about its official launch remain scarce. However, Google hinted that the headset would be “accessible later this year.” A recent report from a Korean news site supports Google’s assertions, suggesting that the XR headset might finally debut in September.

The report states that “Samsung Electronics is set to introduce its extended reality (XR) headset ‘Project Moohan’ at the domestic Unpacked event on September 29.”

However, there is a caveat: immediate purchase of the headset may not be possible, as the OEM plans to trial the XR headset in Korea starting October 13, before distributing it worldwide.
