OnePlus is said to be in the preliminary phases of creating a compact gaming tablet, based on recent reports. The tablet is anticipated to have a display in the 8-inch range, featuring a 165Hz refresh rate and 3K resolution, which would significantly improve the gaming experience through smoother graphics. This information originates from a Weibo insider known as Smart Pikachu, who disclosed purported specifications from the tablet’s testing phase.
The gaming tablet’s design is rumored to be straightforward, though the specifics of this are uncertain, especially considering the design evolution from the OnePlus Pad 2 to the Pad 3. The Pad 2 had a round camera cutout, while the Pad 3 showcased a smaller vertical camera housing with rounded edges. The upcoming gaming tablet may either adhere to one of these design approaches or introduce a completely new aesthetic.
Alongside the gaming tablet, OnePlus has recently launched a series of mid-range devices intended to deliver quality at a more budget-friendly price. This collection features the OnePlus Nord 5, OnePlus Nord CE5, OnePlus Buds 4, OnePlus Pad Lite, and OnePlus Watch 3 43mm. The Pad Lite aims to offer a more economical alternative to the flagship Pad 3. These items are expected to be available starting July 8.
Regarding the gaming tablet, a specific release date has not been confirmed yet, but speculation indicates it might appear by the end of the year or early 2026.
