With companies refreshing their phones annually, it’s unavoidable that you’ll encounter a lackluster model or two. I’ve been using the Motorola Razr Plus 2025 for a few weeks now, and while I’m fond of it, I feel there’s insufficient differentiation between it and last year’s version to warrant the cost.
This is particularly apparent on Prime Day when the Motorola Razr Plus 2024 is priced $300 lower than the 2025 model. Even with the $300 savings, you’ll be receiving the same excellent Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor found in the 2025 version, the same outstanding OLED displays with impressive eye care features (including an option to completely disable PWM dimming), and the same fantastic outer display that can run any application.
In fact, the cameras maintain the identical 50MP specification, along with the same amount and speed of RAM and storage, the same battery size, and the same great Moto software. Honestly, there’s hardly any justification for spending more, even without this Prime Day offer.

The Razr Plus 2025 features a new, more robust titanium hinge and the first dust-resistance rating ever for a Razr phone. If you’re a beach enthusiast or have a tendency to drop your phone in the dirt, it may be worthwhile to spend the extra $300 or take advantage of one of the numerous Motorola Razr Plus 2025 promotions from your preferred carrier.
The Razr Plus 2025 guarantees one more year of Android updates, reaching up to Android 18, with security updates projected to continue until the end of 2029. The 2024 version stops at Android 17 with security patches continuing until the end of 2028. This is beneficial if you’re planning to keep the phone for over the next four years.
Aside from that, there’s not much more to highlight. The Pantone color validation for the Razr Plus 2025’s cameras is quite nice, but it doesn’t justify the extra expense based on my evaluations. I would recommend saving the $300 now by purchasing the Razr Plus 2024 and consider upgrading a few years down the line when Motorola significantly enhances the series.
