Leaks are moving in a specific direction, creating excitement for buyers of the Pixel 10.
The forthcoming Google Pixel 10 series is stirring interest with its expected compatibility with the Qi2 wireless charging standard. This new standard features the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP), enabling devices to connect with Qi2 or MagSafe chargers and accessories via integrated magnets. The Pixel 10 range is rumored to completely embrace Qi2 and MagSafe with built-in magnets, possibly enhanced by a new line of “Pixelsnap” accessories.
Google’s dedication to the Qi2 standard is clear, as the company was involved in the creation of the Qi2.2.1 specification, which introduces support for 25W wireless charging. This coincides with the Wireless Power Consortium’s confirmation that major Android smartphones will adopt Qi2 25W.
The Pixel 10 series is predicted to be heavier than previous models, likely due to the addition of magnets. Moreover, Google is said to be working on first-party magnetic accessories, further suggesting its intent to back magnetic Qi2 charging.
With the Pixel 10 debut slated for August, all indications point to this series being the first to feature integrated magnetic charging support, positioning it as an exciting option for potential buyers.
