Renowned actor John Malkovich has been announced as a guest star in the forthcoming Apple TV+ series “Prodigies,” which will consist of seven episodes in the romantic comedy genre. The cast also includes Ayo Edebiri, recognized for her performances in “The Bear” and “Inside Out 2.”
“Prodigies” was initially unveiled by Apple in April, created by Will Sharpe, known for his previous projects like “The White Lotus” and “A Real Pain.” Edebiri not only features in the series but also takes on the role of executive producer.
The show’s narrative presents an innovative twist on the traditional romantic comedy structure. It centers around Didi (Edebiri) and Ren (Sharpe), two former child prodigies who have been a couple since their early years. Now in their early 30s, they face the realities of their mundane lives and ponder whether their relationship can measure up to the remarkable expectations established in their youth. The series delves into the intricacies of long-term relationships, challenging the idea that a romantic tale ends once the couple unites, positing instead that this is just the start.
