Apple Supports National Parks via Apple Pay, Fitness+, and Other Efforts

Apple has revealed multiple new initiatives to aid the National Park Foundation in honor of its 109th anniversary. This includes contributions linked to Apple Pay transactions, an Apple Watch activity challenge, and additional offerings.

From August 22 to 29, Apple will contribute $10 to the National Park Foundation for every purchase made using Apple Pay at Apple Stores, via the App Store app, or on its website. This signifies the ninth consecutive year of this program by Apple.

Moreover, Apple is organizing an Apple Watch activity challenge on August 24 to commemorate National Parks. Participants who successfully fulfill the challenge will earn a virtual trophy and animated stickers for use in Messages, FaceTime, and more. The challenge motivates users to log any workout lasting 20 minutes or more with any app that integrates workouts into Health.

Other methods Apple is honoring national parks throughout the month include:

– A fresh lineup of Time to Run episodes for Fitness+ inspired by National Parks.
– A compilation of top apps for outdoor hiking available on the App Store, alongside the National Park Service app.
– A specially curated National Parks guide in Apple Maps showcasing thousands of trails.
– A selected collection of National Parks-themed podcasts in Apple Podcasts.
