Nothing Launches Ear 3 Featuring Innovative “Talk” Button on the Case

The Nothing Ear 3 retains a see-through aesthetic while introducing a Talk button and Super Mic.

As we approach the September 18, 2025, launch, Nothing has officially revealed its forthcoming wireless earbuds, the Nothing Ear 3, offering us an initial glimpse at the design and a preview of one of the features.

From the initial teaser shared, it seems that Nothing is adopting a design for the Ear 3 similar to that of earlier models. The design features a stem style with earbuds that have white ear tips and a transparent stem showcasing silver accents inside.

The case also resembles past iterations, with a fresh silver finish on the bottom and a transparent lid, akin to earlier designs. However, this is where the excitement begins.

Nothing’s case gains more functionality

The teaser highlights a new “Talk” button prominently located on the earbuds’ case. The USB-C port on the right appears to have a new microphone and/or speaker adjacent to it.

While Nothing hasn’t provided extensive information, in a community post, the brand refers to this as a “Super Mic.” The exact function of the new “Talk” button remains unclear, but we anticipate it might enable users to communicate with an AI chatbot directly through the earbuds’ case.

Another new aspect regarding the case is that Nothing has utilized “100% anodised recycled aluminium,” which the company claims enhances durability and provides a high-quality finish. Additionally, they mention that they have optimized the earbuds’ design by reducing the space between components and have “reengineered the metal antenna to a flat profile and controlled its thickness to merely 0.35 mm.”

The company has yet to disclose additional features or complete specifications; however, considering past launches, it’s probable that we’ll see more information prior to the release. Pricing and availability details are expected to be unveiled at the official launch on September 18, 2025.
