Samsung Recommences One UI 8 Update Distribution for Galaxy S23

Following a short pause, Samsung has recommenced the distribution of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S23 series. The update features the October 2025 security fixes and was originally halted on October 21, but is now reavailable for the majority of the Galaxy S23 lineup. The rollout started in Korea on October 24, with the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra receiving the upgrade. However, the Galaxy S23 FE is not included at the moment, though it is anticipated to receive the update shortly.

The October 2025 security patch is based on One UI 8 and Android 16, representing the continuation of the upgrade rollout for the Galaxy S23 series. For users who have already moved to One UI 8, the security patch is about 400MB. Those upgrading directly from One UI 7 might find the update size to be larger. This release comprises 34 critical fixes in the security patch, addressing vulnerabilities classified with “high” or “moderate” severity levels.

To upgrade your Galaxy S23 device, navigate to the Settings app, press Software update, choose Download and install, and then select Install now. The build numbers for this update are S918NKSS6EYJ7, S918NOKR6EYJ7, and S918NKSU6EYI7.
