Apple has recently launched iOS 18.7.2, a new software update for iPhone that is “recommended for all users” who have not yet transitioned to iOS 26.
### New iOS 18 Update Features ‘Crucial Security Enhancements’
Earlier this week, iOS 26.1 was released, introducing a range of new features for iPhone. Nonetheless, Apple has also provided a new update for those who have yet to upgrade to iOS 26.
iOS 18.7.2 is a minor update that delivers many of the same security enhancements present in iOS 26.1 to users of iOS 18. Similarly, iPadOS 18.7.2 has been made available, concentrating on security.

Apple’s security website has now been refreshed with the specific patches implemented in today’s update. These include fixes for App Store, Audio, Camera, Find My, Notes, and more.
If you’ve been hesitant to upgrade your iPhone to iOS 26, the recent 26.1 rollout could be an ideal time to do so. Apple typically addresses many of the bugs first introduced in its major x.0 releases by the time x.1 is available.
That said, if you’re satisfied remaining with iOS 18 for the time being, make sure to install iOS 18.7.2. It won’t provide any new features, but it will keep your iPhone aligned with the latest security improvements.
