Apple plans to improve its Apple TV subscription service beginning in 2026 by including Major League Soccer (MLS) streaming at no extra charge. This initiative will enable subscribers to view every regular-season game, the annual Leagues Cup tournament, the MLS All-Star Game, the Campeones Cup, and the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs with their current $12.99/month or $99/year subscription. This move is in line with the approaching 2026 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, representing a pivotal moment for soccer in North America. Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services, shared his enthusiasm for introducing MLS to a worldwide audience on Apple TV.
Beyond soccer, Apple is broadening its sports selections by becoming the official streaming partner of Formula 1 in the U.S. starting in 2026. This tactic aims to engage a new demographic, as Formula 1 enjoys global popularity. While the pricing for the Formula 1 subscription has yet to be revealed, fans will still have access to F1 TV Premium via Apple TV. These efforts signify Apple’s dedication to expanding its streaming platform by offering exclusive sports content, with aspirations to grow its subscriber count beyond the current 45 million+.
