It’s quite challenging to keep track of the numerous items the TSA permits in your carry-on luggage. Certain items are clearly prohibited, such as knives and other weapons, while others are permissible even if they look like those objects. For instance, you may take a lightsaber aboard, but not other toy weapons, such as foam swords or Nerf blasters. Multi-tools are acceptable too, provided they are devoid of blades. Scissors, which are essentially two blades, are permitted as long as they are under 4 inches in length from the pivot point.
