Since Apple and Google announced their backing of the new passkey authentication standard in 2022, numerous companies and app developers have been incorporating passkey compatibility into their platforms. Recently, Telegram has joined the growing list of applications that support passkeys. The update not only brought the passkey function but also added gift purchase options and audio features in Stories.
#### How to Create a Passkey on Telegram
To enable the passkey feature on Telegram, follow these steps:
1. Go to **Settings**.
2. Choose **Privacy and Security**.
3. Press on **Passkey**.
4. Select **Create Passkey**.
After you create a passkey, Telegram will produce a distinctive cryptographic passkey associated with your account, which will be securely stored on your device. Once this setup is complete, you can log in using Face ID or Touch ID, removing the necessity for SMS codes or passwords.
Furthermore, Telegram states that the passkey can be synchronized with password management applications from iCloud, Google, and others, offering added flexibility for users.
