OnePlus has launched its newest budget-friendly smartphone, the OnePlus 15R, which notably exceeds its premium variant in one critical area: battery life. The OnePlus 15R features an extensive 7,400mAh battery, making it the largest battery ever produced by the brand. This characteristic is especially significant as it outperforms the flagship model, boasting an anticipated 80% capacity retention after four years of usage.
The OnePlus 15R is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, delivering flagship-caliber performance at a more affordable price. The device is tailored for gaming fans with its 360-degree Cryo Velocity Cooling System and a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen that supports a 165Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the phone features a dual-camera arrangement with a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens, in addition to a 32MP front camera for self-portraits.
Operating on OxygenOS 16, the OnePlus 15R includes AI capabilities such as AI Recorder and AI Writer, improving user interaction through intelligent features. The device is scheduled to receive four years of OS updates and six years of security patches, guaranteeing durability and protection for its users.
Offered in Charcoal Black and Mint Breeze, the OnePlus 15R is available in two setups: 12GB RAM with either 256GB or 512GB of storage. With prices starting at $699, pre-orders will commence on December 17, with sales on Amazon beginning January 8.
