Apple has issued the initial beta version of iOS 26.4 for iPhone users. At first, there were hopes that this update would deliver major improvements to Siri, especially enhancements driven by Google’s Gemini AI technology. Nevertheless, recent information suggests that these expected features will not be part of the iOS 26.4 update.
In January, Apple confirmed a collaboration with Google to implement Gemini AI for upcoming Siri enhancements, which have been in preparation for the last two years. Although the features have been publicly discussed for a while, the official agreement to incorporate Gemini is a recent update.
The iOS 26.4 beta 1 comes after the official launch of iOS 26.3, which was recognized for its limited feature additions. The earlier update introduced a more efficient method for transitioning between Android and iPhone, improvements to the Astronomy and Weather wallpaper collections, and a new function for iPhones and iPads with Apple C1 and C1X modems that enables users to restrict the exact location data shared with their cellular service providers.
As users start to navigate the first developer beta of iOS 26.4, more updates and findings regarding changes and features are expected.
