Tesla’s More Affordable $60,000 Cybertruck Remains a Cybertruck

The price has dropped, but the negative perception remains unchanged.

Tesla recently unveiled a new all-wheel drive Cybertruck model, priced at $59,990, marking its most affordable price yet. However, it remains notably higher than the initially promised $40,000 by Elon Musk. Alongside this, Tesla has reduced the cost of its high-end Cyberbeast model by $15,000, aiming to boost the slow sales of the Cybertruck.

Currently available on Tesla’s site, the new dual motor AWD version is cheaper than the rear-wheel drive model released last year, which was quickly discontinued. It also includes features absent in the previous model, such as a powered tonneau cover, bed outlets, and adaptive damping. However, it offers a slightly reduced range of 325 miles due to the extra motor, compared to 350 miles.

Simultaneously, Tesla has lowered the price of the tri-motor Cyberbeast to $99,990, a familiar price which marks its third return to this point. The Cyberbeast has experienced several price changes: initially launching at $99,990, followed by increments of $20,000, then decreases by the same amount, and increments again by $15,000 before dropping back to the original price. This suggests that potential buyers might want to act quickly, as there’s no certainty on future price changes.

Despite this, Tesla might need to maintain lower Cybertruck prices, given the 48 percent sales decline in 2025. Sales figures fell to just over 20,000 trucks within the year, significantly below Musk’s initial prediction of selling 250,000 Cybertrucks annually.
