Samsung Integrates Perplexity into Galaxy AI

The company is heavily investing in a multi-agent AI ecosystem.

Galaxy S26 users can now use Perplexity alongside Bixby and Gemini by saying “hey, Plex.” This is part of the company’s strategy to implement a “multi-agent ecosystem.”

Typically, users employ different AI agents for various tasks, depending on their abilities. Samsung is enabling the integration of different agents into the OS. Perplexity won’t just be a basic app feature on Galaxy phones; it will integrate with Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder, Calendar, and certain third-party apps, although specific apps weren’t disclosed by Samsung.

Samsung anticipates that people will increasingly leverage AI to operate their phones. However, users often form strong bonds with specific AIs. Samsung believes that offering the freedom to choose any AI agent as the central feature of their phone will set them apart from competitors like Apple and Google.

Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event is approaching, where more information about Galaxy AI and their multi-agent vision will likely be shared on the 25th.
