Uber Engineers Create an AI Replica of Their Boss

Consumers often view Uber as a company focused on ride-hailing and food delivery. However, CEO Dara Khosrowshahi sees it as a vast code base with engineers who are essentially the “builders of the company.” In a surprising development, Uber’s engineers have created a chatbot to simulate Khosrowshahi for rehearsing meetings with the company’s executives.

This insight comes from an interview Khosrowshahi gave on Steven Bartlett’s podcast, The Diary of a CEO.

“One of my team members mentioned that some teams have developed a Dara AI to practice presentations before presenting to me,” Khosrowshahi discussed on the podcast. “As you can imagine, before something reaches me, it has undergone significant preparation, and the slide deck has been meticulously refined. So, they use Dara AI to fine-tune their preparation.”

Business Insider previously reported this information.

According to Khosrowshahi, approximately 90% of Uber’s software engineers incorporate AI into their work, with about 30% being advanced users who are radically redesigning the company’s architecture.

“They are creating the foundational elements of the system, and they’re envisioning the system’s overall design,” he stated.

Khosrowshahi further remarked, “It is transforming their productivity in an unprecedented manner.”
