The MagicPad 4, just 4.8mm thick, is thinner than Apple’s slimmest iPad. Honor announced a new, even thinner version of its already slim MagicPad tablet. Last year’s MagicPad 3 was 5.8mm thick, but the MagicPad 4 reduces that to 4.8mm. It’s thinner than the 6.1mm iPad Air, 5.1mm iPad Pro, or Samsung Galaxy Tab S11, at 5.1mm, and only matched by the reMarkable 2 E Ink tablet at 4.7mm.
The MagicPad 4 features a slightly smaller 12.3-inch screen compared to its 13.3-inch predecessor. However, it now boasts a 165Hz OLED display instead of LCD. Its battery is also smaller at 10,100mAh. Honor hasn’t provided battery life estimates, but the OLED screen could extend its lifespan compared to last year’s model. With its smaller and thinner design, the new MagicPad 4 is about 145 grams lighter than the MagicPad 3.
Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, the tablet includes either 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, or 16GB and 512GB. It operates on MagicOS 10, based on Android 16, and features a 13MP back camera and a 9MP front camera. Though its photography is basic, like last year’s model, the MagicPad 4 excels in audio with eight speakers providing spatial sound. It’s an option if you want to share your movie audio on flights.
Pricing and availability haven’t been announced yet, but Honor is likely to reveal this at its MWC press conference on Sunday, along with a hint at a move into humanoid robotics.
