Many product collaborations will end, but some will be available directly through Corsair instead.
The Drop store, acquired by gaming gear giant Corsair in 2023, was a popular destination for mechanical keyboard enthusiasts and audiophiles seeking rare gear, often at excellent prices. Sales will cease after March 25th at 11:59 PM PT, the deadline to redeem Drop Rewards. After March 31st, the site will remain accessible for a limited time for order history viewing, but all retail operations will transition to Corsair.
Corsair’s marketing manager Andrew Williams confirmed to The Verge that several products from Drop will be integrated into Corsair’s site for purchase. Some will be sold on Amazon and Best Buy. Other products, especially hardware collaborations with other companies, will be discontinued.
When asked about the future of Sennheiser or Koss headphone collaborations, Williams did not specify but indicated that most, if not all, will not transition to Corsair. He noted that Corsair has its own headsets and products, but assured that popular items would continue under Corsair.
The Drop team joined Corsair upon acquisition, and Williams stated no layoffs will result from winding down the site. Corsair assured that existing orders, including preorders, will be fulfilled, and current product warranties will be honored.
