The Xiaomi Tag includes a built-in loop and works with both Apple’s Find My and Google’s Find Hub tracking networks.
Xiaomi has launched its first Bluetooth tracker, featuring a more elongated design than the Apple AirTag, which allows for immediate use in more locations. It has an integrated metal loop at one end for easy attachment to a keyring or clipping to a carabiner without an extra case.
It is compatible with Apple’s Find My and Google’s Find Hub tracking networks and mobile apps, though not simultaneously; you must select one during setup. Like the AirTag, it uses a replaceable CR2032 coin cell battery, offering up to a year of usage and has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. It also includes NFC capabilities for sharing contact details if someone finds a lost device.
A key difference from AirTags is the absence of ultra wideband (UWB) technology, so its exact location is not as pinpointed, relying instead on sound alerts for nearby location. Despite this, the Xiaomi Tag is a more affordable option at £12.99 (approximately $18) each, or £44.99 (about $61) for a four-pack. In comparison, a single second-gen AirTag is $29, or $99 for a pack of four.
