Earlier this year, Honor introduced its “Robot phone” featuring a movable camera arm. Before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the company shared more about this device, highlighting its ability to react to different scenarios independently. The launch is set for the latter half of this year.
Honor revealed that the robot phone exhibits a “personality,” responding with “head shakes” and dancing to music. Users can interact with it via text and voice. They demonstrated the robot responding to apparel suggestions through nods and shakes.
Equipped with a 200-megapixel camera on a three-axis gimbal with stabilization technology, the phone promises steady photo and video captures. Its Super Steady mode enhances video recording, while the Spinshot feature allows for cinematic rotations at 90 or 180 degrees.
The robotic camera offers fluid video calls, employing AI-powered object tracking akin to an advanced version of Apple’s Center Stage. Honor developed its own micro motor for the camera’s movements and used materials similar to the Honor Magic V6’s hinge, ensuring durability with 2800 MPa tensile strength.
At the same event, Honor also unveiled the foldable Honor Magic V6 with a 6,600 mAh battery, the Honor MagicPad 4 tablet, and the Honor MagicBook 14 laptop.
