Apple revealed the new iPhone 17e, a budget-friendly smartphone priced at $599, launching on March 11. It features an A19 chip, Apple Intelligence, and 256 GB storage, double the previous entry model’s capacity. New upgrades include MagSafe and Qi2 for wireless charging up to 15W. Available in black, white, and soft pink, it includes the C1X modem, boasting double the speed and 30% less energy use compared to the iPhone 16e. It has a 48-megapixel camera with Fusion camera technology for optical-quality 2x Telephoto and records 4K video with Dolby Vision up to 60 fps and Spatial Audio. The iPhone 17e is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance, featuring a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with Ceramic Shield 2 for improved scratch resistance. It supports Emergency SOS via satellite, Roadside Assistance, and Find My. Environmentally, it’s made with 30% recycled materials, using 85% recycled aluminum in the casing and 100% recycled cobalt in the battery.
