**John Ternus Discusses the MacBook Neo and Apple’s Perspective on AI**
After the launch of the MacBook Neo, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, provided insights regarding the new device, the company’s stance on artificial intelligence (AI), and discussions about his possible future as CEO.
During an interview with ABC News correspondent Elizabeth Schulze, Ternus highlighted the MacBook Neo’s ability to connect with a wider audience. He mentioned, “We recognized an opportunity here to truly engage a lot, a lot more individuals than we ever have prior. It’s solid, it’s dependable, it’s robust. It encompasses everything you desire in a Mac. And, yes, that’s an incredible price point.” This represents a significant transformation for Apple, which has traditionally prioritized premium pricing.
When queried about the delay in launching a more budget-friendly Mac, Ternus clarified, “The standards are elevated. We didn’t want to proceed until we could execute it exceptionally well and create a Mac that we were proud to present.” This underscores Apple’s dedication to quality and user satisfaction.
Regarding AI, Ternus remarked that the technology would be progressively incorporated throughout Apple’s product range. He conveyed Apple’s vision on AI, stating, “I believe Apple Intelligence will continue to expand, subsequently making tasks you undertake better and simpler. And if we execute it correctly, you know, people might not even consciously acknowledge it. They’ll simply have a new feature that they begin using increasingly because they genuinely appreciate it.”
In relation to rumors about his possible ascent to CEO, Ternus stayed non-committal but reflected on his contentment with his existing position. He noted, “Well, the positive news is, I adore the role I hold. I have the opportunity to collaborate with the most remarkable individuals in the world, and on occasions like today when we’ve unveiled all these products, it is the most thrilling environment to be in.”
