The upcoming iMac will feature Apple’s new M5 chip. Apple is anticipated to introduce a fresh color palette for its next iMac line-up, joining the variety of hues available for the MacBook Neo, such as Silver, Blush, Citrus, and Indigo. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iMac is expected to launch later this year. Previously, Apple transitioned to its Silicon chipset with the M1 iMacs in 2021, bypassed the M2 for iMac, and introduced the M3 iMac in 2024. The latest iMac update was with the M4 chip, available in seven different colors. Apple is reportedly considering new color options beyond its traditional aquamarine blue for future iMacs. While specific details on the refresh are scarce, the new model is likely to feature the M5 chipset and will target an affordable pricing range, even as the base model currently sells for $1,299.
