The chatbot finally embraces multimodal learning.
ChatGPT is now getting enhanced with multimodal capabilities, enabling it to generate interactive visuals in response to prompts related to math and science. Whether you’re puzzled by abstract math or challenging physics concepts, ChatGPT can assist you. Announced today, OpenAI’s chatbot will be able to produce dynamic, customizable graphs, diagrams, and geometric renderings. Users can modify variables and manipulate formulas directly within the chat, observing real-time changes in visuals. Currently, there are visual explanations for 70 core concepts in science and math, including physics and geometric formulas like the Pythagorean theorem, Charles’ and Ohm’s laws, and more. These subjects are tailored for high school and college learners, with plans for future expansions. OpenAI notes that ChatGPT handles math and science queries from 140 million users weekly. Previously, they introduced Study Mode to encourage a more Socratic method of learning. While dynamic visuals aren’t exclusive to Study Mode, they span all ChatGPT experiences and are available now.
