### Daniels Returns to the Newsroom, Sort Of

Apple TV has revealed that Jeff Daniels will be part of the cast of **The Morning Show** for its fifth season, playing the role of a self-made billionaire and creator of a well-known investment firm. This marks Daniels’ third partnership with Apple TV, following his performance in the third season of **Shrinking** and his narration of the documentary **9/11: Inside the President’s War Room**.

Although he won’t be portraying a news anchor in **The Morning Show**, Daniels’ casting is captivating as it resonates with his earlier role in Aaron Sorkin’s **The Newsroom**, for which he received an Emmy for his depiction of lead anchor Will McAvoy. His inclusion in the already impressive ensemble, which features Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Beharie, Nestor Carbonell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Jon Hamm, and Karen Pittman, is set to enrich the show’s dynamics.

**The Morning Show** concluded its fourth season in November, and while Apple has yet to announce a premiere date for season five, showrunner Charlotte Stoudt hinted at a possibly quicker turnaround this time, indicating that the earlier delay was caused by a writers’ strike.

Fans can anticipate catching **The Morning Show** on Apple TV, which is offered at $12.99 per month and includes a variety of popular shows and movies.
