It seems that Google is still pursuing this concept. A recent find in Google’s code indicates that an editing capability is under development for the Gemini application, particularly for creations by Nano Banana. This capability will enable users to annotate changes on images through sketching or typing, utilizing a pencil icon. This is consistent with earlier speculations about a similar feature via a “resubmission” option within the Gemini app. The upcoming capability will allow users to swiftly edit images produced by Nano Banana, with a “Mark Up” screen that includes “Sketch” and “Text” options, along with color selections for the pencil. Users can pinpoint areas for alterations, and the AI will take into account both the visual annotations and text directives to effect changes. This advancement implies that Google is actively engaged in improving user interaction with AI-generated images, facilitating a more intuitive and precise editing experience.
