Lucid Motors announced Wednesday that it will release a software update for North American Gravity SUV owners on Thursday, enabling Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. European and Middle Eastern owners will get the update in “late March.”
These features have been available on the Lucid Air sedan, but the new Gravity SUV faced several software issues. The situation led the interim CEO to apologize to owners. Lucid Motors recently dismissed several top software leaders and laid off 12% of its workforce, as reported by TechCrunch.
The software update coincides with Lucid Motors’ investor day in New York City, where they will discuss their upcoming mid-size EV platform, profitability path, and the launch of their luxury robotaxi service in partnership with Uber and Nuro.
