Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone is expected to feature Touch ID instead of Face ID to support a slimmer front display, as per Bloomberg. The device will offer an iPad-style interface for side-by-side app viewing. The outer display size will resemble a small iPhone, while the inner display will have a wider aspect ratio akin to Google’s first-generation Pixel Fold, differing from current foldable models like the Pixel Fold 10 and Galaxy Z Fold 7. Although multitasking could be enhanced, the foldable iPhone won’t run existing iPad apps. Apple plans to update its core apps with a sidebar and enable developers to create more iPad-like iPhone apps. The foldable may integrate Touch ID in the side button since the front panel is reportedly too thin for Face ID sensors, opting for a small-hole punch camera instead. The foldable iPhone, resembling two iPhone Airs, will retain Apple’s Dynamic Island feature for real-time event tracking, have two rear cameras, and be priced at approximately $2,000.
