Prepare for “Bumble 2.0.” Bumble will soon test an AI dating experience called Dates, powered by Bee, an AI dating assistant and matchmaker. Users will undergo an onboarding conversation with Bee, discussing values, goals, lifestyle, and intentions. This private conversation determines match criteria. Bee will then identify potential matches and if both users show interest, they can start a conversation.
CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd emphasized innovation and technology focus due to decreased revenue and users. Bumble plans a new cloud-native platform launch in Q2, improving user experience and addressing dating app fatigue. The AI prioritizes meaningful matches, reducing swipe fatigue. Dates beta will launch soon, with upcoming features like date suggestions and anonymous feedback.
Other dating apps, like Tinder and Hinge, have also incorporated AI. Tinder is testing an AI matchmaker and Hinge has introduced AI conversation starters. Wolfe Herd previously mentioned an AI-powered dating concierge. Bumble 2.0 aims to offer a fresh approach, focusing on authentic storytelling and deeper connections.
