The president endorsed the controversial influencer and boxer/MMA fighter for elected office. At a rally in Kentucky, President Donald Trump praised YouTuber Jake Paul, suggesting he might run for political office. Trump was campaigning for Ed Gallrein, who is opposing Rep. Thomas Massie, a known adversary of Trump. After Gallrein’s speech, Trump praised Paul, calling him a strong fighter and a “great guy.” Paul made a brief appearance, stating that both he and Trump “never back down from a fight,” and expressed a desire to see more factories flourish across the country, hinting at potential future campaign issues. After Paul departed, Trump predicted that Paul would soon run for political office and offered his full endorsement. This marks a shift in Trump’s stance towards Paul, whose residence was raided by the FBI in 2020 in relation to a looting incident at an Arizona mall, although Paul faced no charges. Paul was accused of sexual assault by TikTok star Justine Paradise in 2021, allegations he denied. Despite this, Paul has gained fame for his MMA and boxing endeavors, alongside his successful career as a YouTuber and influencer.
