Approaching the 98th Academy Awards on March 15, preparations for the glamorous event are in full swing. With Conan O’Brien as host, the red carpet is rolled out, and the statuettes shine anew. Influencers prepare their interview questions amid viral nominee backlash.

Meanwhile, the Golden Raspberry Awards, or Razzies, spotlight last year’s worst in Hollywood. Despite no in-person appearances, the virtual ceremony included unsettling animations on YouTube. The full list can be found online.

Worst Picture nominees included The Electric State, Hurry Up Tomorrow, Disney’s Snow White (2025), Star Trek: Section 31, and War of the Worlds (2025), the winner. Directed by Rich Lee, War of the Worlds received poor ratings across IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and Letterboxd and streams on Amazon Prime Video.

For Worst Actress, Ariana DeBose, Milla Jovovich, Natalie Portman, Rebel Wilson, and Michelle Yeoh contended. Rebel Wilson won for Bride Hard, in which her character balances spy duties with bridesmaid responsibilities. IMDb rated it 4.4, Rotten Tomatoes 14%, and Letterboxd 1.9.

In the Worst Actor category, contenders were Dave Bautista, Ice Cube, Scott Eastwood, Jared Leto, and Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye. Ice Cube claimed the award for War of the Worlds, which had a notable meme-worthy scene.

Worst Supporting Actress nominees included Anna Chlumsky, Ema Horvath, Scarlet Rose Stallone, Kacey Rohl, and Isis Valverde. Scarlet Rose Stallone won for Gunslingers, shared with Nic Cage, earning low scores on movie rating platforms.

In the Worst Supporting Actor category, nominees were All Seven Artificial Dwarfs, Nicolas Cage, Stephen Dorff, Greg Kinnear, and Sylvester Stallone. The “dwarfs” of Snow White (2025) won, criticized for using CGI characters instead of real-life actors with dwarfism.

For Worst Remake/Rip-Off/Sequel, I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025), Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, Smurfs (2025), Snow White (2025), and War of the Worlds (2025) competed. War of the Worlds took this title as well.

All Seven Dwarfs were back in the Worst Screen Combo category, joined by James Corden & Rihanna, Ice Cube & His Zoom Camera, Robert De Niro & Robert De Niro, and The Weeknd & His Colossal Ego. All Seven Dwarfs emerged victorious again.

Worst Director nominees were Rich Lee, Olatunde Osunsanmi, The Russo Brothers, Trey Edward Shults, and Marc Webb. Rich Lee won for War of the Worlds, noted for its “Golden Raspberry” potential.

Worst Screenplay contenders were The Electric State, Hurry Up Tomorrow, Snow White (2025), Star Trek: Section 31, and War of the Worlds (2025). War of the Worlds tied with Cats for the most Razzies.

The Razzie Redeemer Award, for a comeback from a critical failure, went to Kate Hudson for her role in Song Sung Blue, following previous Razzie nominations for My Best Friend’s Girl, Mother’s Day, and Music.
