What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT’s latest daily word game is launched in association with The Athletic, a New York Times property providing sports coverage. Connections can be played on web browsers and mobile devices, requiring players to group four words sharing a commonality.

Each puzzle features 16 words divided into four categories. These sets can include anything from book titles, software, country names, etc. Although multiple words might appear to fit together, only one correct answer exists.

If a player accurately matches all four words in a set, those words are removed from the board. Making a wrong guess counts as a mistake, and players get up to four mistakes before the game ends.

Players can rearrange and shuffle the board for easier spotting of connections. Additionally, each group is color-coded: yellow is the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, results can be shared on social media.
