Michael B. Jordan received the Oscar for Best Actor at a highly anticipated Academy Awards on Sunday. The Sinners star delivered an impassioned acceptance speech.
“I stand here because of the people who came before me: Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whittaker, Will Smith,” said Jordan. “To be among those giants, those greats, my ancestors, my guys, thank you to everyone in this room and everyone at home for supporting me throughout my career. I feel it. I know you want me to do well, and I want to do that because you bet on me. Thank you for continuing to bet on me. I will keep stepping up and being the best version of myself I can be.”
