Founded by two French serial entrepreneurs who have spent decades in Romania, the platform is set to launch publicly in May 2026 as a trust-by-design alternative to X and Facebook. A new social media platform incorporating real-time fact-checking into the user experience raised €300,000 in pre-seed funding from Fil Rouge Capital, an early-stage venture fund that expanded into Romania in 2025. The startup, called eYou, was established in Bucharest in 2026 by Grégoire Vigroux and Jasseem Allybokus, aiming for a public launch in May, with a waitlist open at eyou.social.

The platform’s key feature is a straightforward AI-generated assessment that appears in a pop-up when a user clicks on a post, summarizing the veracity of claims using credible and neutral sources. This feature enables users to challenge misinformation in real-time without disrupting the conversation flow.

eYou also introduces a transparency layer for its feed algorithm, allowing users to see and edit the profile the algorithm constructs about them, enabling them to broaden content exposure beyond algorithmically reinforced echo chambers. These features address criticisms that mainstream social media spreads misinformation quickly and traps users in ideological bubbles.

“Unlike traditional social networks that amplify engagement at any cost, eYou prioritizes trust. Social media was meant to connect people and democratize information but has become a powerful engine for polarization and misinformation. There is a need and demand for a platform built on transparency, accountability, and trust,” said Grégoire Vigroux, co-founder and CCO, eYou.

The platform is designed with GDPR compliance and European data protection standards, differentiating it from dominant US platforms and aligning with European regulatory expectations. Jasseem Allybokus, co-founder and CEO, adds technical expertise from his role as CTO at Visiperf and as a co-founder of Ecrilib.

“Most social platforms show users content they agree with, reinforcing echo chambers and misinformation. eYou offers a different approach built on European principles of transparency, accountability, and diverse viewpoints,” said Jasseem Allybokus, co-founder, and CEO, eYou.

Vigroux, a prolific entrepreneur in Romania, co-founded CallPoint New Europe, acquired by TELUS International, and ventures like BonApp and Fenix.eco. The €300,000 funding came from Fil Rouge Capital’s accelerator program offering pre-seed funding and potential for €1 million in follow-on investment. Fil Rouge Capital has backed over 170 companies, including DocPlanner and happn.

“The founders bring entrepreneurial experience, a clear vision, and address digital platforms’ trust challenges. eYou could become the leading European social media player.” — Matei Dumitrescu, partner at Fil Rouge Capital.

The platform will be accessible on iOS, Android, and web, globally available with architecture and regulatory design rooted in European principles.
