The X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max both include customizable RGB lights within their camera rings.
Xiaomi subsidiary Poco has launched the X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max phones, featuring large silicon-carbon batteries, powerful chipsets, and 256GB of standard storage. They surpass the recent Pixel 10A in specifications while being more affordable. The RGB lighting in the form of LED rings inside the rear cameras adds a subtle flair.
The X8 Pro Max, a new addition to Poco’s X line, boasts a remarkable 8,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, with a 9,000mAh option available in India and certain markets. This offers a battery life of two to three days per charge while maintaining a slim profile of 8.2mm thickness. It also supports rapid 100W PPS wired charging.
Powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s chipset, the Pro Max provides 12GB of RAM with storage options of 256GB or 512GB. It features a 6.83-inch OLED display.
The X8 Pro is slightly smaller, with a 6.59-inch display. Its battery capacity is reduced to 6,500mAh, which may not reach two full days of usage. It uses the Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, with RAM options of 8GB or 12GB and similar storage options as the Pro Max. Both phones offer impressive dust and water resistance up to IP69K, though their cameras, including 50-megapixel main, 8-megapixel ultrawide, and 20-megapixel selfie cameras, are less remarkable.
The camera design is playful, incorporating RGB lights in the camera rings that light up for calls, specific app notifications, music, and compatible games like PUBG and Call of Duty. Customization is limited compared to other products like Nothing’s Glyph lights.
Poco is also releasing a limited edition Iron Man version of the X8 Pro, featuring a black-and-gold color scheme, packaged in a special briefcase with a themed case, cable, and SIM tool.
None of these three phones will be released in the US, but Poco has provided global prices in USD. The X8 Pro is priced at $329, going up to $399 for the highest configuration and the same for the Iron Man edition. The starting price for the X8 Pro Max is $469, with the 512GB version costing an additional $60.
