# Matic Now Compatible with Apple Home: A Detailed Summary

In recent times, I have been evaluating the Matic robot vacuum and mop produced by Matic Robots, a device that prioritizes privacy and smart technology. One of the most thrilling updates is its compatibility with Apple Home, which boosts the capabilities of the device within the Apple ecosystem.

## Matic’s Compatibility with Apple Home

Although Matic is not the inaugural robot vacuum to connect with Apple Home, it is the first one I have tried out personally. The connection enables users to utilize many of Matic’s functionalities directly through the Apple Home app, alongside the specific Matic app. This update was noted in the version 1.44 release notes, which also highlighted Google Home compatibility.

To link Matic to Apple Home, users may follow a simple procedure within the Matic app. After updating the app, a new option titled “Connect to Smart Home App” becomes visible in the settings. Users can enter pairing mode and choose either Apple Home or Google Home. The robot vacuum shows a QR code that users scan for completion of the connection, facilitating easy naming and room assignments within the Apple Home app.

## Siri Voice Command

A prominent feature of this integration is the potential to control Matic via Siri voice commands. Users can make several requests such as:

– “Siri, initiate vacuuming.”
– “Siri, vacuum and mop [room name].”
– “Siri, pause [vacuum name].”
– “Siri, send the vacuum back to the dock.”

This voice command feature improves the user experience, providing a convenient way to manage cleaning duties without the need for direct app interaction.

## Apple Home App Features

Inside the Apple Home app, users can regulate Matic much like they would in the Matic app. The controls enable vacuuming, mopping, or a combination of both in designated rooms or throughout the entire house. Users can also pause and resume cleaning or instruct Matic to return to its dock whenever needed.

Moreover, Matic presents three cleaning modes through the Apple Home app: Quick, Deep Clean, and Automatic. Users can also set up scenes or automations, such as initiating cleaning when departing home or docking when returning.

## Drawbacks and Notes

While the integration is mostly effective, there are certain limitations. For example, the option to emit a sound for locating Matic did not work as intended. Additionally, while the integration operates smoothly on iPhone and Apple Watch, it lacks full support on macOS, restricting Siri control on Mac devices.

## Summary

In summary, the integration of Matic with Apple Home greatly enhances its features and user engagement. The inclusion of Siri voice control and the capability to oversee cleaning activities through the Apple Home app renders Matic an appealing option for users within the Apple ecosystem. Matic Robots retails the vacuum/mop for $1,245, alongside a 60-day return policy and all necessary accessories for setup.
