AI is pervasive. But what exactly is AI? We often hear that AI surpasses human intelligence in numerous ways. So, what does this entail?
AI serves as an excellent tool. It acts as our virtual assistant, aids in composing emails and meal preparation, or handles mundane daily tasks that we prefer to avoid. New AI applications are emerging daily.
However, does it also imply that some individuals might use AI to bypass tasks requiring human judgment, such as, well, nuclear warfare? Militaries are already exploring AI for battlefield usage to predict not only troop movements but also drone strikes. Do we want computers making life-and-death decisions on such a large scale?
Mashable’s Entertainment Editor Kristy Puchko delves into this in our latest Mashable Rant.
