The X-Plane Flight Simulator Featuring Ben Supnik

2 Min Read

X-Plane is a widely-used flight simulator created by Laminar Research, known for its first-principles physics engine, realistic aircraft systems, and diverse aircraft selection.

To explore the engineering behind a flight simulator, we invited Ben Supnik to our show. Ben has been a software engineer at Laminar for two decades, contributing significantly to X-Plane’s development. He appears alongside Kevin Ball to discuss X-Plane and his career in simulator development.

Kevin Ball, also known as KBall, is Mento’s vice president of engineering and an independent coach for engineers and tech leaders. He co-founded two companies, held the role of CTO, and established the San Diego JavaScript meetup. He also organizes the AI inaction discussion group via Latent Space.
