The newly formed SNL UK cast likely envisioned widespread attention for their inaugural sketch, but getting recognition from the US president was probably unexpected.
In the first-ever cold open, George Fouracres portrays an overly anxious UK prime minister Keir Starmer, alongside deputy prime minister David Lammy, as they anticipate a phone call from Donald Trump.
“Oh, golly,” remarks Starmer/Fouracres as the phone rings. “What if Donald shouts at me?”
The sketch depicts Starmer as cowardly and fixated on Trump, which might have led the president to share the video on Truth Social on Sunday.
