Ayaneo has halted preorders for its $1,999 Next 2 gaming handheld due to increased digital storage costs. The rising expenses nearly double the initial price, making production unsustainable. Despite launching with negligible profit expectations, Ayaneo was unprepared for the rapid escalation in storage prices. Existing preorders will be fulfilled, and sales may resume once costs stabilize. The Next 2, launched February 10th, features a 9.06-inch OLED display, Ryzen AI Max 385 processor, Radeon 8050S graphics, 32GB memory, and 1TB SSD storage.
