Apple’s budget-friendly smartwatch features many high-end elements, including an always-on display and on-device Siri. Upon the release of the latest Apple Watch SE, it exceeded expectations by surpassing Apple’s pricier models and enhancing fundamental features. Now on sale, it is even more appealing. The LTE model is at its lowest price of $249, $50 off, on Amazon since December, while the 40mm GPS version is available for $219, $30 off, at Amazon, Target, and Walmart. The 44mm GPS model is also discounted to $249, $30 off at Amazon and Target, with the option to add LTE for another $50.

The Apple Watch SE 3 incorporates several features once exclusive to higher-end Apple models. It now boasts an always-on display, allowing a quick peek at time or notifications without screen taps. Powered by Apple’s S10 chip, it supports on-device Siri and gesture controls like double tap and wrist flick, simplifying call handling and notification management. Enjoy quicker charging, 5G connectivity for better coverage, and streaming music directly from the watch. Health-wise, the SE 3 provides ovulation tracking and breathing monitoring during sleep, alerting potential sleep apnea signs.

As an entry-level device, some features are absent to keep the price down. You won’t be able to conduct an EKG, measure blood oxygen, or receive hypertension alerts, as available on the Series 11 and Ultra 3. These higher-priced models also have larger screens and include Apple’s Ultra Wideband chip for Precision Finding, a tool to locate your iPhone. However, the SE 3 covers the essentials, which are sufficient for many users.
