According to a report from Bloomberg, a modernized Siri will be unveiled as part of iOS 27 and macOS 27 updates at WWDC 2026.
Apple’s efforts to rebuild its Apple Intelligence AI platform will be showcased at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 8th. A new version of Siri, transforming the voice assistant into a “systemwide AI agent with deep integration across applications,” will be announced at WWDC 2026, according to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
The updated Siri will be more adept at controlling apps and features of iOS and macOS, executing tasks using data from emails, messages, and notes. It will summarize news from Apple News and provide detailed web-sourced responses, including summaries, bullet points, and images, to compete with AI-powered search tools like Perplexity and Google Gemini.
Accessible via voice or the iPhone’s power button, Apple is also testing a dedicated Siri app across devices. The app will offer conversational capabilities in a chat interface akin to Apple Messages. It will allow users to find past interactions, search through chats, start new chats, switch between modes, and upload documents and photos for analysis.
Apple is exploring new Siri designs, like placing it at an iPhone’s top in the Dynamic Island, prompting with “Search or Ask” when activated. The interface will expand into a translucent panel for ongoing conversations or inquiries. The company aims to enhance Spotlight search by replacing it with Siri for broader data access, and built-in apps will feature an “Ask Siri” toggle for more information on highlighted texts or related emails.
